I recently stumbled upon an anime sex scene that made me raise an eyebrow. It was quite explicit and vibrators got my attention, because it seemed more real that anything I had seen before. The feeling of wrongness in my gut was unmistakable.

I’m not a prude when it comes to sex. I enjoy exploring and experiencing different aspects of it. But this felt different. It was like seeing something incredibly wrong and unethical. I know it’s not real, but it still felt like an invasion of my privacy; like someone was exploiting something that should be private and intimate.

When I watched it a second time, I felt a visceral reaction – not just in my gut, but my heart and my soul. It made me uncomfortable and sad all at once. I kept thinking about all the young viewers that could be exposed to this kind of content, and I couldn’t help but feel that it was not appropriate for them.

In general, I’m not a fan of anime sex. I think it can be incredibly sexist and degrading to women. It perpetuates stereotypes and ignores consent and relationships. It can be incredibly triggering for viewers, especially for those that have experienced sexual assault and harassment.

What troubles me the most is that this kind of content is being presented as a safer alternative to live-action porn. While some may find it empowering, I don’t think it really is, because it still suggests that sex should be seen as a commodity rather than a meaningful experience.

Another issue is that there’s no room for exploration. There’s no dialogue, no communication, and no understanding. It’s just bodies, moving in a certain way, and that isn’t real intimacy. It doesn’t offer something that viewers can relate to in their own relationships; it just reinforces the idea that sex should be seen as a physical act rather than something beautiful that can be shared between two people.

On top of that, it paints a very unrealistic view of sex. In anime, sex is often portrayed as a thrilling, risky activity that leads to a big climax. But in real life, it’s more about understanding, exploration, and mutual respect.

I understand that everyone has different opinions on the matter, and I respect that. But personally, I’m not a fan of anime sex. It’s exploitative, disrespectful, vibrators and doesn’t celebrate the beauty and complexity of human relationships. For me, it’s not something that I want to see, hear, or consume.
