We were all gathered at a bar the other night when I was inevitably asked the question of whether I’ve seen the news. I knew what they were referring to, and everyone just looked at me with a judging gaze. I didn’t know how to answer so I just asked “What news?” in a poor attempt to avoid the topic. The friend I was with sighed and then proceeded to tell me about the new ‘fucking loli sex doll’ that had recently been revealed and causing a stir in society.

Frankly, I was dumbfounded. How could people create something like this, let alone design it to look like a young teenage girl. I mean, it was a bit of a head-scratcher. What kind of problem could this product be solving? Who would want to own something like this? I just shook my head and sighed.

My friend then started talking about the fact that people in the industry were talking about how this doll could be viable for customers who may want to have some sort of connection with a young girl, with the only way to do so being with this doll–which would then be owned by adults. This seemed pretty disgusting to me and hard to comprehend.

I couldn’t help but think of a slew of scenarios that could unfold if these dolls become more popular. For dildos instance, would they lead to an increased demand in the industry? Would the companies begin to target young kids in the pursuit of trying to get them to buy these dolls? Would laws be needed in order to enforce restrictions on who buys the dolls? All these thoughts spun around my head with the whirlwind of confusion and disgust abiding by them.

As it turns out, not everyone was against this concept. People had begun to argue that this doll would provide a safer way for people to express their feelings, without actually harming another person. This is what scared me the most. We’re telling people that it’s okay to express their desire for younger looking people by buying a doll with the exact same features as a teen and that this act is not harmful? This just seems completely wrong and off-putting.

I still can’t believe people have resorted to making something like this in order to cope with inappropriate desires. People should look for better ways of dealing with their problems and should never be allowed to purchase items that satisfy their sexual urges. I was just left feeling angry and lost in thought.
